Mentor Office hours will be held throughout the event! Below you’ll find our mentors, the subjects they’re experts in, and how you should contact them if you have any questions you’d like to ask! The schedule for open hours will be updated throughout the week as new slots open up. If you have any trouble contacting mentors, please email [email protected]!
The In-Person Division of MakeMIT 2022 will take place February 5-6th in the Student Center (Building W20). You will have 24 hours (with a brief sleeping break) to make a project with your team. At midnight, the building phase will pause and will start again at 7:00am until 11:00am.
Unfortunately, due to MIT's COVID policies, no food will be provided, and there is neither eating nor drinking at the event! Feel free to take a break at any time during the building phase to get something to eat and drink outside of the event venue.
The judging phase begins on February 6th at 11:00pm and ends at 2:00pm. Expect to describe and demo your projects live to MIT faculty, researchers, makerspace staff, and company representatives.
By January 30th 12pm noon, please submit your design proposal on Devpost and complete this Google form so we can get you connected with our judges for the judging portion. Similar to previous years, judging will be “expo” style so expect judges to pop in and out throughout the judging time period.
On devpost, you will need to submit a design proposal, which can be a CAD, detailed sketch, slideshow, and/or anything that best shows off your idea’s potential!
You’ll also need to submit a materials list which outlines the materials you’ll need to bring your project into fruition. This is useful both for your team’s organization, showing feasibility, and helps our organizing team gauge how many teams we can accept for the build phase!
Similar to the design phase, please submit your project on the same Devpost and complete this different Google form so we can get you connected with our judges for the judging portion. Similar to previous years, judging will be “expo” style so expect judges to pop in and out throughout the judging time period.
On devpost, you will need to submit images and descriptions of your project. During judging, your team can decide how best to present your project!
